Vitamin #1: Multi-Vitamins

First to consider is a proper multivitamin. Not all multivitamins are produced equally. You have to decide also which one to choose from a time-released or non-time-released. Time-released multivitamins are those that are more costly but are released at a slower and steadier rate for better body retention. Vitamin #2: B Vitamins

The B vitamins that are beneficial to the general health of a bodybuilder and will support his performance are vitamins B1, B6 and B12. Thiamine (B1) contributes in the proper maintenance of the heart as well as the digestive and nervous systems of bodybuilders. On the other hand, vitamin B12 plays a significant role being an enzyme in several body functions. For vitamin B6, it utilizes the proper metabolism of both protein and carbohydrates. If you consume a B-complex vitamin, this will contain all the essential B vitamins as mentioned above. However, they too can be taken separately.

Vitamin #3: Vitamin C

Among other vitamins, vitamin C can help substantially in the improvement of all what you gain in bodybuilding. This vitamin C protects the body from free radical damage that the body had created during your heavy workout or training. It is also a strong antioxidant which can boost the immune system so as to fight off fatigue and reduce the risk of getting unhealthy. Another benefit that a bodybuilder can get from vitamin C is that it lessens muscle soreness. This benefit is not well known to everyone. They should know that if there is muscle soreness, it is dangerous for a bodybuilder to go on with his training program.

Vitamin #4: Glutamine

Glutamine is very common among bodybuilders. The main function of this is to repair cell and muscle tissue damage during workout. Because the body cannot process sufficient amount of the branch chain amino acids, glutamine is the best supplement for a better protein synthesis which result to an increase lean muscle tissue.

You need vitamins for bodybuilding in order to supplement your workout and to help you repair any damage to your muscles. As stated above, each type of vitamin supplement has its own functions. You can then choose one depending on your actual needs for the product or supplementation.
